Food INC. Trailer
(Provided by U tube)
This trailer summarizes an eye-opening film that analyses two very different ways that farmers market and produce livestock. At first glace, it seems to be a made up scenario that is used to introduce another suspense movie. However halfway through the introduction, it becomes bluntly clear that this problem is a present day issue, Unfortunately, it appears to be foreign to our fast paced economy for the simple fact that it is easier than dealing with the problem, I have decided to no longer let the debate go unnoticed.
One aspect of how our food is produced to us is through corrupt corporations that are protected by the federal government! By this, I mean the USDA and the FDA which I was under the impression that these divisions were in place to regulate the nation's best interest. Also I am confident that others believe this fairy tale as well. In reality, the actual influence is strictly the industry's greed for money.
Major corporations work against independent farmers by producing mass quantities of the world's food supply, at a much cheaper price. Alongside demeaning the value of an animal's purpose in life by poor living conditions and toxic food supply. Ultimately, sacrifice is society's health, natures environment, the circle of life, and most humble morals.
On the other side of corporate schemes, is how food was originally supplied by independent farmers. That process is similar to how the circle of life already functions. In short, it starts with the grass, that is eaten by the animals and later digested, and so fertilizer then nourishes the grass. By this process, natural instinct provides the means that is necessary for the environment to survive. This is crucial because as humans, we benefit off of whatever the land has to offer. If money hungry enterprises continue to control and take over the food industry, mother nature will rot and the land will have nothing left to over civilization.
With this in mind, I can not help but feel sick to my stomach and utterly furious about the disrespect businesses bestow on us as consumers. Not to mention, their families! The behind the scene structure of where our economy is currently and the prominent forecast of where it will reside in the future, is kind of disappointing. I wonder, if there were a way to send out a world wide memo that illustrates the tragedy to come, would people have the courage to try something new; so that our environment will flourish.
What is one reasonable change that everyone could make; that would have a positive impact on the crisis ahead?
Hi Monae,
ReplyDeleteI've seen some of the same points you have made. and I couldn't believe it either. There is a lot of things we could do as consumers. I also watched FedUp on Netflix, there are other documentaries on their as well. one thought I had was what if big pharma was somehow involved in what they showed in this video. come to find out Coca cola did partner up American Academy of Family Physicians. Because of this, 20 physicians resigned stating their disdain for this partnership. You should check it out!
