Blog Residue
|
Honestly I was not happy to find out that I would have to publish my own thoughts (in blog format), on the web for everyone to read.. It is not because Im not sociable or anything; I believe it has more to do with my inexperience as well as being "out of shape" in the types of writing that I have already learn. By this, I only mean that I have not been in school for a long time so I am not use to the environment.
moving forward, I started taking blogging a little more seriously since that was the most simplistic form of developing my ideas for my writing projects. Also I have figured out that the instructor that assigned these blog periods, did indeed have a purpose. By this, there was a definite link to the blog topic corresponding with the subject of our separated writing projects. With this, my analytical interpretation that I presented on Blogger, ensured that I understood what I needed to include in my writing project context.
Because I was trying to adapt into a student, I did not take blogging serious (at first); Besides what skills could possibly be strengthen from this kind of task? Well not long after I criticized the technique, I slowly began seeing a change within my writing process. Then it became clear to me, blog writing is a type of writing process! In fact, it is an ideal method since it's easy to understand and to teach.
I do feel that this was a valuable experience because I can not remember the last time I was forced out of my comfort zone in a productive direction. I am not claiming that it was an easy assignment, but It was useful because it taught me a different way of writing and more important, a different way of understanding.
Another aspect of Blogger's worth, is the helpful incite that I receive from my peers. It makes the in class setting much more comfortable as well since everyone communicates on a regularly. My most utilized advantage of posting, is that I have the opportunity of receiving my instructors opinion thoughts, or guidance regarding my not only my academic for of writing but also he sees how my more casual writing is executed which I then have feedback on multiple writing forms.
I am glad you found value in the blog project, Monae. Keep working and improving!
